Why doctor who is ruined for me:
The trivialization of death.
As soon as they started treating death as a plot device where anyone could die and come back to life the show lost all its gravity and relevance. The constant rebirth of the Doctor isn’t escapist or delusional - unlike the current trend if character resurrection. Rather, the doctors rebirth illustrates the pain of an (in human terms) unnaturally long life; it’s lonely and sad when everyone you know and love dies and you don’t.
Death is coming for everyone and everything. The darkness will swallow the dawn.
